Description

Deaf Sports Australia (DSA) is a vibrant organisation focussed on facilitating the access of deaf and hard of hearing people to the best sporting opportunities available in Australia.

DSA is the peak body for deaf sports in Australia and has 16 Full Members - 12 National Deaf Sport Organisations and 4 State Bodies.

DSA is funded by the Australian Sports Commission to provide services and create pathways for deaf sporting organisations and deaf and hard of hearing athletes on a local, national and international level.

DSA manages the Australian Deaflympic Team, facilitating their participation at Deaflympic Games. The next Deaflympic Games will be held in Taipei, Taiwan during September 2009. DSA also manages the quadrennial Australian Deaf Games - the most recent being held on the Gold Coast in January 2008, and the next Games will be held in Victoria in 2012.
